Varmint #4: The Legend Continues....

We woke up this morning to yet another little flying squirrel in the attic. That's number 4. We took him to Great Brook Farm (the others went to Shedd Park) and took a long walk there. I also caught myself a tick! It's been quite the wildlife filled day.

Jake is putting the trap back upstairs right now.....will there be another tonight?

  1. You know, you most likely broke up a happy family. You have 3 that are happy together and 1 that is all by him/herself. What a shame. It is a sad day in squirreldom. Have you found where they are comming in?

  2. Oh man...Brendan...totally pulling at the heartstrings!

I'm glad to see that appropriate pointy-eared headwear was worn (did you knit it?) - AWESOME! Although, by kind of resembling a squirrel, couldn't this possibly contribute to a sense of abandonment for the squirrels when you leave them in the park?

  3. Happy family? I think not. I think it's just one squirrel who kept coming back until we took him for a LONG ride.

And seriously, do you really have to make me agonize over the fate of the squirrels any more than I already do? I was totally willing to work out a compromise -- room and peanut butter in exchange for a little bit of handy work fixing our leaky chimney. Squirrels said no-go. I had to evict them. Besides, our place is zoned as a single-family dwelling.

  4. And I did make my fuzzy-eared hat. It is my favoritest hat ever. I thought perhaps wearing it would put the little guy at ease; I didn't intend to cause more psychic trauma. Sigh.

  5. I'm sure the hat did help them adjust easier to their new surroundings. And who knows, maybe they saw you as one of their goddesses in their squirrel pantheon, leading them on to a promised land?
